I'm trying to render a scene with a 70mm projetion. How come I dont' get the black solid line ( top & bottom) like a wide screen shot....
what do you mean? Why would you get a letterbox out of the render?Anyway, if you want a letter box on your stuff, do it in post. Why are you rendering at 70mm then going to a aspect ratio where you would need a letterbox? I'm totally confused about what you're after. I'm guessing you're rendering with 70mm to 4.3 aspect ratio?
yes, I'm trying to render an image that will be 4:3.
This all new to me man, sorry if i'm not clear. I want to have several shot with black bars at the bottom and top, like the movie "heat". does maya automaticaly produce the bars??
render 70 mm frames and then composite it on 4:3 frames in post
ist mucjh faster to render too since theres no need to process teh extra pixels.
yeah, render this out at the 70mm aspect ratio and when you do your post work in whatever program you choose, shrink it into 4:3 and add black behind it. Its the way to do it.
70mm, 35mm, 16mm, etc... is the width of the film, not the aspect ratio. All film sizes can come in different aspect ratios depending how you crop it: 2.35, 1.85, 1.66, 1.33, etc...
