Hey there!!!
I have a two simple questions.....
1) Is it possible to toggle between viewports in XSI the way you can in Maya(the quick tap on the spacebar).....???
2)how can I change the background color(in the final render)?
I`ve been working with Maya for 1
If you mean 'maximize' simply hit 'F12' while mouse pointer is in the viewport you want to maximize'. Hit F12 again to come back to 4 viewports.
Open an explorer view (hit '8')With the pointer in the explorer press 'u' or switch from 'Scene' to 'Current Pass' in the top left side of the viewNow click on the ICON named Default Pass to open the render pass property page.In the top of the page you will see a tab called "Output Shaders: click on it and hit the 'Add' button. Now browse to reach the folder "drive name:SoftimageXSI_your versionDataDSPresetsShadersOutput" and select "2D_background_color".Select the "2D_Background_color" form the shader stack and hit "Inspect".Select your favourite color.
Warning: the color will be added when the render is over.

Tip: Many of the maya people that I know who are starting to use XSI are changing the F12 shortcut to something like Alt-Space bar to help make the transition easier.
Well thanks very much for your quick reply....So now Ican dig futher down into XSI........
See you around
