Ok so im new the displacement map/ normal map thing. but its driving me insance.
Im workin on this thing for univeristy. Im using a base mesh because it needs to be animated so I want to displace that base mesh and then use normal maps to make up the detail. But when ever i link my disp map and set the mental ray approx editor it starts lookin funny

now my UVs aint perfect and pretty but i have no overlaps. the base mesh is all qauds and its supposed to look like

once the normal map is on it aswell that is. any insight into what's going wrong would be great.
