About Highend Converison

First is there any conversion going on in any sections still from old highend to the new.

in other words are all tutorials and files where they are suposed to be?

Any way of reverse eingeneer old links? That is would it be possible to have some formula that knows how to form a new link in the new database? I mean there are gzillion linkis still pointing at highend with old uris.

Would be nice if the not found page could also tell thet its possible the page has moved etc?! or even recognize the old link and say moved?!?!

I know its a bit much to ask, but atleast knowing thet theres no data left in the old sytem tehs not been convertted would be enough.

So is Highend3D changing it's name to FXShare with the new site being directed to http://www.fxshare.com/ ? I've becomes accustomed to "Highend3D" but since we cover topics both 3D and 2D related it would make sense for the name change though maybe something like "HighendFX".

fxshare is just for 2d/compositing apps. Like the old highend2d. Goto fxshare.com and see for yourself. The site is up.

Why spend extra work on supporting two sites? After all "FXShare" sounds more universal than Highend3D.com which currently combines both 3D and 2D while still using the "3D" in the site name. Also including the word "Share" in "FXShare" is ideally what the forum site is all about, exchanging ideas and helping each other grow in an ever changing global market. Anyway for personal preference I like going to one site for my information, instead of several. I just wish the name could change permanently to "FXShare".

As for website FXShare being ready it seems to have browser issues with Firefox 1.5. I get an error listed in detail at the bottom left of the main site page. I'll include a copy of this error below. Does anyone else experience this error?

Few things.

1. we had hackers again this past week, if any of you noticed the site was down a few times. had to upgrade the boards, I think thats where they got in. fucking boards are a nightmare to keep up with. I think we have it now.

2. because of the boards upgrade that was the error you saw, but resolved now.

3. eventually if fxshare does take off I would like to merge the sites. It came about from a deal with a company whos name I cannot mention (I think you can figure it out), and they did not like the word "highend" to support their products. So we agreed on fxshare. They would not fit into highend3d and this was after we had already launched the new site design. Plus im a bit concerned about how it will feel for the 2d guys. Editors and motion guys seem to be different type of people then 3d guys and we still have to feel out how the community works. we saw with highend2d that compositing guys are difficult to build community for.

anyway, it was done more as a business move because we had to in order to get the support from the software companies. once things work out we'll be able to position whats best for users a little better.

assuming we dont have anymore hackers I think we have 99% of the bugs now worked out on both sites.

im starting a new podcast area btw.
