Hi there, Im a new nuke user so be gentle:) I am trying to create the effect of footpringts using maya, renderman and some nuke image processing and need some help on the nuke part.
What I will do is through the use of depth map passes and some other things render out a sequence of frames with an orthographic camera placed where feet intersect the ground, the images i end up with will be white with black footprints esentially, I will then process these frames to use as a displacement map for the geometry later on in another pass...
There are a few things I want to use nuke for:
#1 accumulating the images highest values through time so that footsteps stay planted on the floor
#2 Processing the images so that they behave correctly with the displacement shader in renderman
#3 Adding a "halo" effect arround the footsteps so they displace as if they have volume, the halo cant be a standard glow effect as it linearly interoplates the halo. Ideally i want to be able to use a bezier curve to show the values in the halo surrounding the footseps.
In the image below A is the image i have at the beginning and B is the processed one. To the right is a start cros section of values from the image and an end.
Any hints on what i need to do?
Cheers, jon
