Add Sound To Animation (2)

I created an Animation in maya (format avi and mpeg). Now I am looking for a programm to add sound
to the animation. You can already make it with maya, but it seemed very circuitous, so i decided to do it with another software programm. Can anybody approve a programm for this work?? Are there free programms? Please help me, i am at a loss... I do not know in which forum i have to post this topic...

Well, allmost any editting app has this capability. But incidenttaly you shouldnt be rendering video files out form maya (or any other rendering software) at all, its a critical piece of advice you might end up regretting not heeding this advice. Its a thing that can break a promising career.

A pretty decent editor thats free is virtualdub.
