Its not the same as a image type. its a shader type and thats a BIT different.
Wouldn't it be easier to just do it the other way around? Either that whenever you compile it make it push it to maya (just open a command port and write a simple batch script) OR edit the slo inside maya let it compile over commandline with sytem command and make a shader out of it. Bth of which are quite more productive and quite easy to do. (tough if you do a lot of shader writing is suggest you get RPS wich is more geared for this kind of work)
Amway it is possible to make a change ito the visors so they show the slo and you could mmb drag them in form disk but its ultimately a less productive way.
Well, here's the thing. Code, compile, import; code, compile, import. It'd be really great if an *.slo file appeared with all the other import file types. Isn't there an environment file or something that I can add the *.slo file type to so that it appears on the drop down list along with the others?
Regarding the "other way around" comment, not sure at the moment how I would pull that off. Very new to all of this but appreciate the insight.
