Alpha channels..............

Hey there troops...........

I'm working on a short that has alot of character in some of the shots. Rendering is taking for ever, and so a friend of mine suggested compositing seperate layers together. Here's my problem. I can't seem to render with an alpha channel in softimage. I'm sure that it can be done but I cant' figure it out. ANYONE?

Select object that you don't want to render-> at info selection -> rendersetup -> unclick all obj visibility -> render -> option -> check Z pic -> and then render.
That should be able to do the alpha channel thing. After render, undo those objects and select the inverse object, do the same thing. Remember. when you composite them, 2 render sequence must have the same amout of frames.
