Animate extrusion along a curve path

Hi, I wonder if is possible to animate extrusion along a curve, i.e. in "S" shape.

Sure, use path flow and scale the model along the path.
Toy around with the centerpoint and flowoptions...

there is a specific tutorial on alias wavefronts site pertaining to animating an extrusion- has to do with an extrude option and it will give you an error when it's used but there really isn't an error- can't find e-mail sid69graphic@yahoo.com

Simply select the path, select the sub curve and play with the min and max value...

Hi, could you be a little more specific?
I am fairly new to Maya, and don't quite understand.
I make a path.
I make a nurbs circle.
I select both and extrude.
...then what?

Hello,

I recently had the same question and gmask cleared it all up for me. I don't know if you found out how to do it yet, but this worked for me. Make a curve and a nurbs circle. Select the circle first and then the curve. Go to Surfaces, Extrude, then the little box next to extrude. In the extrude option box make sure that Partial is checked. Click extrude and then there should be subCurve2 under inputs in the channel box editor. Do not delete the history for your extruded shape. You can keyframe the min and max values. But the problem I am still trying to figure out (did you have this too?) is that if you change the shape after it was extruded then you get wierd results(becuase it still has history)....
