that's probably becouse comb interpolates position of each point in the mask using splines by default and if keys are very close tangents goes crazy. You should check in timeline (graph) or make interpolation linear.

When you create Animations / Keyframes in Combustion, the Interpolation between keyframes is normally set (by default) to Bezier. As is stated, that is probably what your porblem is... Open the timeline in GRAPHIC mode to verify it.

You can CHANGE this easily in your preferences > Animation > Default Keyframe Interpolation = ........
