Animating Cloth with Dynamics

Greetings.

I'm creating a piece of cloth (made out of a poly plane) to hang from a rope.

I placed Locators and did Transform Constraints with some vertexs.

I then created an Air field that I Field Constraint to the cloth. Everything is fine.

Now, I can animate the Locators, and so, animating the cloth, but my problem is this. I want to atach the cloth to the rope, witch I created using this tutorial: How to make a realistic cable/ http://www.visualart.ro/tutorials/cablu/cablu.htm , so that the cloth can react to the same fields as the ropes and literally hangs up and down from the rope. I tryed to atach, constraint, everything, the locator to the rope, but this causes the cloth from stop moving.

Is there any solution to this? How can I achieve that reaction?

Thanks in advance and sorry for any bad english!

If i understand your problem properly, you are having issues with attaching the actual cloth object to the swinging rope ?

If that is the case, then you might have bumped into an annyoing cloth problem which appears to stem from evaluation ordering.

Im guessing that the anchor points on the rope are also dynamically driven, what you need to do is get some locators which are keyframe animated where your anchor points are. Depending on your setup and knowledge of maya this may or may not be difficult.

But, once you have the anchor points driven by keyframes you can then constrain your cloth to these locators/

Good luck.
