Having just begun with zbrush on a mac, are zscripts compatable with both mac and pc as are mel scripts within maya.

They aren't. If you check the website:http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/download-c...load-center.php
You'll see there are two versions of each script. One for PC and one for Mac.
