Hi to all,
I've been learning 3d animation (among other things) on and off for 6 years, including rigging obviously.
So what I've come to realize is that no matter what rotation order i choose, it's impossible to use FK for swordfighting animation, as I constantly run into gimbal lock.
So I am trying to find a solution using IK with a group orient-constrained to a hand control so that I could always rotate the group containing the IK handle around the axis that the hand is pointing to. Don't know if it's very clear. But apparently this approach won't work...
I've done a bit of research and I can't find much info on the subject. Any ideas? I know it's been done countless times for games and movies... If I could just examine rigs from professional studios this would answer my questions but unfortunately that is not possible!
