Assemble Hdr/float Info Inside Shake?

Hi,

i am new here, so hello first off!

I got a question - it could be easily worked around, but just for the sake of saving a step and curiosity as well i would like to find out: for a background plate a have a series of images shot from a tripod, which i shot just in case because it was no effort. I wanted to assemble those in Pshop into an EXR to have more freedom correcting the background in shake.

As i figure Pshop is not doing magic either, wouldn't there be a way of assembing the various exposure stills directly in shake into one float background? If so, how could i do that, which node(s) would i have to look into?

Cheers,
Aksel

you could try the multilayer node or the multiplane nodes. they have much more layering options than in the standard layering nodes

Hi Aksel! just wanted to check... are the images you are assembling all raw files taken at different exposures just cos the hdr can't be faked from one raw file or jpegs..? http://www.hdrsoft.com/resources/dri.html#raw
...if so maybe you could just connect each image to a bytes node set to float, iadd the images together + render as an exr? although it might look like some areas are burnt out, if you scrub over those areas you should find the pixel value sampled varies so the information in those areas are retained-if you want to check that, you can just add an expand node and in the high color sample the brightest pixel value so that the iadded image is remapped between 0 and 1-you should then see the detail appear in the bright areas... if that doesn't work maybe try is the hdrshop thing? http://www.hdrshop.com/
