Attaching isoparms to trim curves?

I'm attempting to attach an isoparm to a trim curve. Is this possible?

Some background: Basically, I have a flat, rectangular plane and I projected a curve onto it to create an arch-shaped door. I trimmed the curve on the surface so now there is an arch-shaped hole in the plane.

I wanted to create a lip on the door, so I duplicated two more curves and lofted them to create the lip. Now, I want to attatch the lip to the door on the flat plane, but the door is a trim curve not an isoparm.

Is there any way to stitch or attch these together or am I going about this the wrong way to begin with? Thanks!

In a word, no. You can only stitch and attach with NURBS surface edges. Your best idea is to try a bit of the old patch modelling technique to rebuild the archway without trims, in general try to avoid trims altogether (and planar surfaces) if at all possible.

If you're not familiar with patch modelling, there's a few tutorials here at Highend that should give you the basics, then it's just a case of practising lots. It can be tedious but is very definitely worth learning in the long run.

-take the trim edge and duplicate a surface curve, if it gives you more than 1 curve attach the curves together, then loft from the isoparm to the edge, you can't realy attach but you can use the history to keep it together, then group the objects together...
-Hope this helps, can't attach to trim edges.. sorry, but you could convert it all to poly and combine, and merge the edges... (it's all poly when it renders anyway..)
