I am connecting a color attribute of one material to the color attribute of many other materials. This is because I want to share the same color input across multiple materials and only have to change the color once.
However, after I run my script which connects the source color attribute to the rest, each destination material shows black as the color.
The destination attribute doesn't update until I modify the source.
Once the connection is made, why doesn't the AE immediately get the new color and display it? It isn't until after the connection is made and after I modify the source attribute that the AE diplays the correct color.
Hmm... A open ae template? Or a unopen one? See there might be a bit of lag updating the gui even if the internal attribute is up to date. Try clearing the ae aor calling AErefresh
I tried both suggestions, but no luck. I am using "connectAttr -f" to connect the two attributes together. When I ask the destination Attr what its value is, it is reporting 0,0,0 (black) even though the source Attr is yellow or blue. So, the problem is not related to the GUI being out of data with the data...
I am using custom nodes provided by Middleware, so I am probably out of luck... However, I could not find a command called "dgRefresh"...did you perhaps mean dgEval?
Another tidbit of information...I do the wiring manually inside the HyperShade, everything works exactly as it should...its only when I hook up the attributes in my script, that the destination doesn't update when I modify the source.
Yes the nodes are probably broken. Not in it self very supprising tasks like this are given given to junior coders and you know maya actually requires you to have a quite inimate grasp on higher order of things. Well actually i was thinking of using
dgDirty but it seems not reactive to dirty bits so you can use dgeval would force it then. First try to dirty your attribute.
