Autodesk Developer Network

Hi everybody,

I would like to know if some of you have subscribed to the Autodesk Developer Network. If yes, is it worth the price? In particular, I am interested in maya and motionbuilder.

Well sure but your question is expecting the answer its not worth it. And theres no point in arguing with a point you've allready made.

Lets put it thisway, if your not on the ADN and get problems who do you call?

I'm on it. Used the support a couple of times (normally max or motionbuilder problems) - always been able to answer the questions. Got node ID's from them, get to download any version of maya/max/mb you want, and... that's about all I can say really. Not sure what the price is (company pays) but i certainly don't have any complaints about the service.

the ... includes XSI (which may be of some use) and mostly cad software over that list. Or at least ours does. I know for a fact our company didn't pay much anything for this. But thats maybe because autodesk asked us to partner up rather than us asking them for support. (so in essence we swapped support for support)

So in light of this id say hat if your comppanys main aim is software then you can get the network for less money than say if your a company that does animations. As a pure programming facility would just bring in money to autodesk while a animation studio is the clientele.

well, we are a small company so I think we don't have much to provide to Autodesk in return.. I think we will subscribe and see for next year.
