howdy, people!
ok, below my name was my original question. i figured that one out. i was deforming the mesh...not make a topological change to it.
so my new/updated question is....how do i updated my blendshape targets to take on changes in the base shape such as deformations or the moving of a few vertices, etc?

i have a head that has two targets. i used the sculpt tool on the base head, just to deform it a little. i then select the base head and go in the menu, Deform > Edit Blend Shape > Bake Topology to Targets.
when i do this...nothing happens.
can somebody please fill me in on what i am doing wrong? and please be as descriptive as possible if the process is more involved than what the help files say to do.
