Hi I have rendered out a targa sequence in Maya at full quality, when I bring it into combustion The targas seem like they have been compressed or something cuz my once smooth gradient has been reduced to an ugly unprofessional looking peice of Banding evil. Does anyone know why? Heres the details, I rendered a 220frame scene fullest quality in maya(looks good all smooth no antialiasing no banding) I rendered it at 720x486. As soon as I get it into Combustion none of that stays true, It gets all banded up an ugly. I have it on full quality in combustion. Any Ideas?
When you render in Maya, do you get to set the bit depth? If so, set it to 8. If you have it at 10, 12, or 16, C* may be doing a poor job of converting it. Just a guess.

I tried that except I cant find that option in maya, Ill try their forum, Thanx anyway mang.
Actually 8 bit is not enough to properly reproduce certain gradients...combustion 2 should not have this problem, but I've experienced banding in files that originated in combustion. the problem is most likely not with your Maya files.
Looking forward to v2-
