Beginner's Modeling Tutorials

Anyone know of a modeling tutorial site(s) for beginners? I finished up the one SoftImage provides (Burts Bumpy Back) but still kind of feeling lost about it. I'm going to go back and do it again, but I was hoping there would be similar tutorials, esspecially ones where you create the curves instead of opening a file and having them be there. I would like to know how I can translate my sketches into curves and then create the mesh from there, etc.

Not that this is extremly helpfull but what the hey =o)
Good modeling tutorials are hard to find mainly because at the time your looking for somthing specific to learn, model etc.
What Ive done is learn the tools from tutorials or "playing around" and then start a project and put them to use. What I have found to be invaluable is the tips and tricks others have shared. Shortcuts and workflow ideas. For example: There are numerous head tutorials out there flaoting around, some really good others really brief. One thing that rarley comes up though is loading a picture of a person into your view port as referance...now wait dont everyone clobber me! this is an example of little things that dont always get mentioned, and something i missed for awhile. So how come every head tutorial doesnt tell you to load a nice picture from an anatomy book for refernace to create your curves or build your patches.
Perhaps your drawings can be used right in your viewports for what you want to do. Use a scanner and get em in there =o)
I still think that playing around for a few hours can be a better learning experience then step by step tutorials. Sometimes its easy to just grab something in the room, set it in front of you, and start building in XSI. After awhile of doing this you have strengthened your modeling skills and also have allot of work to show for it sitting on your hardrive.

well i hope some of this helps, =o)
