Benchmark (2)

Hi

I was wondering what kind of framerates other people are getting with their H/W. I got the Cowboy Mesh from Alias' site and when I tumble it with HW texturing turned on, I get about 80 FPS.
I am just interested, coz I want to know what I am missing by not having an expensive Oxygen card or some other high end card.

My setup is
AthlonXP 1800+ (Overclocked to 2000+)
GeForce 2 MX 200
512 Mb DDR Ram

Thanks
Scrumpy

dude, what the hell!

that is impossibly high. 80 fps? with a geforce 2 mx 200?

what resolution are you working in?

what bit depth are you working in?

what refresh rate are you running your monitor at?

Also, you did press 6, not 5 right? 'Cause 6 enables hardware texturing. (just making sure)

If possible, run the 3D test at http://www.maya-testcenter.de at the exact specifications that the website says, and if possible report your frame rates. I'm very interested in this matter.

PS. Did you patch your drivers with SoftQuadro? And what driver version are you using?

Sorry, maybe I should clarify a few thing i didnt mention in my earlier post.
Here are the rest of the specs...

1024x768x32 (My monitor is busted)
Refresh: 80Hz
Version: Maya 4

BUT, When I ran did the same test previously, 1280x1024x16. I generally got 50-65 fps.

Also, I did definately press 6, and I have not patched my drivers with SoftQuadro (What is that?)
I am using the latest official nVidia drivers 21.81 or around there. (Note, that IS 21)

Thanks a lot, I went and had a look at the results there, unfortunately, I am running Maya 4, all of those results are for Maya 3.

there were only minor improvements in ease of use and usability to make it best for new users. The only part that got a major revamp and is up to 40% faster than Maya 3 is the renderer.

but damn man, that is a really high number. I have an Athlon 850, 384 MB PC100 RAM, with a Geforce2 MX 400 64 MB, running Windows XP and holy [censored] when i tumble in full screen view, with hardware texturing turned on it does approximately 13.3 fps.

Regardless of the fact that you have a newer version of Maya, run the test, it only takes 5 mins at most and post resutls here.
