I was wondering if there were any tutorials or websites that explained how to create better Slow-in and slow-out with Maya and get away from that "floaty 3D" feeling. I am a traditionally trained animator and it's hard to get naything realistic with Maya for me. I'm sure you can all do it fine but I am finding my animation is either too bouncy and jerky froom my trying to compensate for the floatyness or too smooth and lifeless.
I used to use 3D Studio max and it has a slider on it for this but there is nothing similar in Maya that I could find. Maybe some sort of Mel script out there?Or using the IK better? I'm completeyl lost! HELP!
I believe I'm supposed to use the Trax editor to smooth or bend the curves created there but I'm not really sure how to go about this. For instance... How do I break a curve so I can make it not so rounded?
How does one create a slow in curve? Is it curved at the start with a tight drop off? SOppisote for a slow out? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
