I know with a single polygon head in Maya with a set of blendshapes for open mouth etc it will export to Motionbuilder and run automatically. This is shown in multiple tutorials.
My problem is what is the correct setup to take a full body polygon and export a single polygon object with its normal facial blendshapes to Motionbuilder.
If i extract the head off my model. Copy it for blendshapes. copy copy copy... change the copies open-mouth... and then create my blendshapes. All of the blendshapes in one node HEAD. And I parent all these copies to the original. This will export and work. But what I want is to understand the rest. In Maya I should then take the original extracted head and combine it back to the model body and merge its vertices together. Then I have a single polygon object to attach to skeletons and so on. The do not delete history is the only caveat.
But that approach does not seem to work as an export to MotionBuilder.
How do I do this . Have a full body exported to motionbuilder with blendshapes for the face that can be connected to motionbuilder?
