Unsure about Syntheyes.
Syntehyes can do many cameras at once yes. For its price its very very good. Its makers are there to make a good algorithm not fight about lets not do this because we cant make a nice gui out of it.
Their documentation is superb and they tell basically how to do motion tracking in there aswell. As a residue they teach how you can do it even in boujou. Tough ist significanly nicer in syntheyes.

one camera to assist with matchmoving/creating a model.
Yes but unless your modeling something thats moving it doesnt matter. You can treat the many cameras as separate frames of the same thing. But turns out you dont nee dthat either just any shot works as image modeller.
Even if the sysetm only has one camera possibility, and you need to motion capture, you can still combine all paralel cameras into a set of frames indentify points and then repeat for each successive frame. So the capability is still there its just not as easily used. The mathiematics dont cahnge just how tedious your work becomes.
Ive done motion capture with maya live in this manner even if it really doest seem do this, its not nice but its not impossible either. Tough doing my own code would have been simpler.
So if the matcher doesnt do this then the makers of the matcher arent really giving you your moneys worth since theres no reason why it would't work. Its a residual of their algorithms. Its a bit liek if you couldnt render the zbuffer out of 3d renders.
Yes pftrack is nice. But im just telling you guys how it is. -> look beyond what your manual or sales pitch says. I mean you can allways buy specialized software to do your job, its always a choice. I mean i can find a lot of programs on the net thet sell for 10$ for a file renaming utility. Someone will buy it, big price tag doenst guarantee it couldt be trivial to do otherwise. But as i said if you have ANY tracker you have all the things needed for image modeling.
