Boujou-nuke

Anybody knows how to convert from Boujou to Nuke, in terms of camera data?

funny you should ask that. I don't know yet but I'm doing a Nuke training session tomorrow at a company that needs the same thing so I'll have a look tomorrow and will let you you know.

I believe there is a text output for the camera solve in Boujou which looks suspiciously similar to a chan file so my first try would be a txt export and than simply use the "import chan" button in the camera node in Nuke.
If it doesn't work as is it should only take minor modifications to make it a valid chan file.
I will let you know when I come back tomorrow (don't have Nuke or Boujou available right now).

Well, unless somebody has already done this and can let us know?!

yikes, I take that back, the txt is saved as a rotation matrix but the chan file needs euler.
This will take a little more than I thought. Is anybody familiar with matrix to euler conversions? I didn't pay enough attention at school.

Here's info and source for matrix to Euler conversions. I am actually in the progress of doing something similar for PFTrack. There is a format that is pretty close to the chan file, but it only includes the cameradata, and i also want the features....So i'll go write a parser for the so-called "human readable ascii" output....wich is a bit tricky to parse as it is multiline and really human readable lol. But it also includes the Features and i hope to be able to extract them as axis nodes via tcl....that way they can be used as a reference for 3d positioning.

Thanks, I actually wrote something already which I will probably post soon.
I was able to pinch the rotation code from the old boujou export script that was around for pre 4.5 versions.

the modified script ships with 4.5.21 now (type import_boujou). If you're working with an older build feel free to email me and I'll be happy to send it your way.
