C2 problems cloning

yes I know, this computer has issues....

When I'm in paint, and I move the cursor to the area I want to clone from, and I hit 'ALT'
Crash-ville! Everytime.

I'm working at 2k, and cannot clone in 'best' view mode.
It's a little more stable in medium view mode, but not much.
I have already installed the new service pack.
Vid Card is Matrox 450.

Any thoughts???? Help.

It was our vid card.
Any sub par- Vid card simple won't handle 2K files in paint.
Works fine now, thought it should be noted this isn't a software issue.
