Hi,
I'm new to C4D, and have been using FFDs to deform a modeled brain to fit an image, but each time I save and re-open the file some/all of the deformed objects are completely invisible in the editor. When an object is selected in the object manager it can only be seen in the editor as a mesh, with no polygons, and the mesh has changed back to its pre-deformed size. I can't make the object visible in the renderer at all. The FFD is also completely messed up.
This only happens if the file is saved and re-opened. As long as the file is in use I can see the deformed object and the normal FFD in both the editor and renderer. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I've got about 27 deformers, and a number of them overlap.
I used restriction tags on all the FFDs. I've tried a few variations of hierarchy, with the FFD as the child of the brain (brain being the parent of the object to be deformed) and child of the object to be deformed, but it hasn't seemed to matter. I'm not sure how clear that sounds, but maybe this would help:
Hierarchy:
Brain> Right side> Cerebellum> FFD (restriction tag right cerebellum)
or
Brain> FFD (restriction tag right cerebellum)> Right side> Cerebellum
I've got some screencaps of the problem too:
Object selected, and FFD visible: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v30/fade...in/Picture6.png
FFD by itself (it's messed up): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v30/fade...in/Picture7.png
Object selected, turns to mesh: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v30/fade...in/Picture5.png
Thanks so much for any help!!!
ps: This project was started in C4D 10 and is now being worked on in 11, but the version change has not caused nor solved the issue of the FFD! We switched to 11 because we thought it might have been a bug in 10, but no luck ![]()
