What can a person use as an 'absolute reference' (or close to anyway) to calibrate their monitor's brightness and contrast settings to ensure that my renderings will look the way I intended on most computers?
I seem to have a problem with people seeing my renders as bright, and with little contrast. I was over at a friends house the other day and saw some of my posts on his flat screen (I use a CRT) and I was shocked at the difference. Personally I though he had his brightness and contrast cranked, but I got feedback at a forum about one of my renders essentially saying the same thing.
Is there a website that has standard imagery that one can use as a stand by which to calibrate their monitor to?
