Camera rotate around object like wings3d?

If someone has seen wings3d , it has the feature were i can press a key. and the camera will rotate around my object. this is really useful for viewing your model. you can just let the camera rotate, and point out things to fix. does anyone know of a mel script that will do this? or any ideas on how to make this? i just think for modeling, it is very useful. any ideas

so what exactly you want it to do? You could always have another camera setup for it.

is there anyway to make it work like how it does in wings 3d though? cause i am typing

orbit -ha -30

the camera just snaps to that posistion. it isnt animated or anything. will this not do that?
