The method you use to track a mask in combustion is generic to all of the things you can track in combustion. In other words, once you know how to track a mask, you know how to track anything. The way it works is that you select something, then go to the tracker tab, which then presents you with the tracking options based on what's currently selected.
It's hard to tell from your description exactly how the shot is set up. If the camera is mostly keeping the same perspective throughout the entire shot (i.e. the camera isn't moving around the car), you don't need to track the camera, you just need to track the text logo onto the car. Select the text object in the composite, go to the tracker tab, select the background car footage, then choose to track either position and possibly rotation and scale. That should lock the text onto the car, the same way that the mask followed the car in the tutorial.
Good Luck,
