Maya peer use support is s easiest to find for windows . Also API development for maya is easiest on Windows.
So in this light choose linux IF you are a studio that has little need for external support. Whereas windows if you need it.
Mac is some wierd hybrid of theese on the other hand mac os needs quite little support, on the other hand macOS is a tethered application in some sense and for example, but most prominently once you step the boundaries of the OS comfort zone your in exact same situation as the linux user. Mac also has least choice of HArdware limitting your options either to ultrahigh end or low end. Maya does not run on newest macOS.
In parctice many studios run maya on Windows and linux where the render servers are on linux boxes.
QUOTE
yes, run linux. It`s the best OS
Well yes but you cannot really call linux ONE OS its a number of them, some good some worse.
Howevre the ultimate question is what do you use in the OS itself that jmake syou so liberated
I mean much of everything i do on windows, linux and lately mac is EXACTLY the same theres no difference only the shorcut keys change. i mean theres not much point in having a cool desktop gui when im on the average using the desktop less than 1% of my entire computation time. Everything else comes in abundance.
