Can You Bake Animation? And How?

Hey everyone, I was just wondering, if you can bake animation because im haveing problems with FBX exporter from Maya To Max and i really need to get the animation through, it always messes with some animation and i need to get it baked on soo i dont have to deal with joints. Thanks in advance!

in your graph editor

look under edit > keys > bake simulation

Im sorry but i looked al over the Graph editor and coul;d not find it. What do i have to select exactly??? do i select he mesh or skeleton? ill try to be more specific, but how do you Bake the animations soo no skeleton is needed and even bake them to the vertices if necessary.

er... not so sure about paking a per vertex skin... maybe using some form of animated snapshots but that would make one very very large scene.

the bake options should still be there even if you have nothing selected, they're part of the viewport menu (maya 7 mind, not sure where they were in 6.5 anymore). They'll work on your skeleton, and rig (IK handles, bones all that stuff).

I have Maya 7 and i opened up the graph editor and under Edit it says only this::

Undo
Redo

Cut (Option Box)
Copy (Option Box)
Paste (Option Box)
Delete (Option Box)
Scale (Option Box)
Transformation Tools>> (menu)>>

Move Keys Tool (Option Box)
Scale Keys Tool (Option Box)
Lattice Deform Key Tool (Option Box)

Snap (Option Box)
Select Unsnapped

That is all that is in the Edit Menu, Is there an optiopn I should have set to in the preference Editor?? Im sorry to bug you but It would mean soo much if you helped me with this!!!
