Please Help Me,
I am modeling headlights for a car and I have built both a glass lense for the outer part and also the inside part of the light. I applied the XSI glass shader to the outer lense, but when I render, the glass is so clear that it doesnt appear to have a lense at all and all you can see is the inner part of the light. Does anyone know of a technique that will give the lense a headlight look. Most headlights arent completely clear and usually have some kind of mesh pattern inside them to spread the light. Without actually modelling this into the lense, is there a shortcut that can be used to simulate this headlight look?
Also, for the inside part of the light, I am trying to create a highly reflective, chrome-like material, similar to what can really be found inside of a headlight or flashlight.
Ive tried many things to get a realistic headlight, from image mapping a headlight onto the lense, to tiniting the lense so it isnt as easy to see through.
There are some fanstastic modelers on this forum who have created some spectaculat work, I hope that some of you could give me some suggestions on creating a realistic headlight. Thanks for your help
