Center Pivot In Xsi With Insert Key?

What is the difference between using the insert key on the keyboard and Using the Center button???

I am used to maya, so i use the insert key in XSI with qwerty key mapping. I can move the pivot, but can never center it again.

If i use the center button in XSI i can use Transform>center pivot to bounding box. This works, but still doesn't explain the Insert key difference. They even have different icons. Am I doing something else using the insert key ???

The basic difference is that one is temporary (ie. the alt key or in your case the insert key) and the other - the center button permanently changes the pivit point of the transform
