Center the "center " to a object~

Hi everyone~
How can I accurately center the "center" of an object to it's center? I've try switch to CTR mode then use align function, but doesn't work~ then how can I do this? this effect can easily done by using "center pivot" in Maya~

this might not be the most efficient but, switch to CRT mode, click the translate area and manually set 0,0,0; then switch back to object mode, select your object and do the same thing

I've try this method, but doesn't work just as my mind~
in softimage, the translation of an object is according to its center. so if we move the center to 0,0,0, then switch back to object mode, the translation of object is already in 0,0,0. it's no any effect that translate it to 0,0,0 again, so this method doesn't work~
so any other method??

1) Select object
2) Model > Edit > Centers2vertices. If you tag points, then the center will be relocated to the average position of the tagged point(s).
