Chamfer Box

How would I create a Chamfer Box (with clean beveled edges) as a solid polygon object. Not out of multiple nurbs patches? In case you don't know what I'm talking about It's just a box with beveled edges instead of right angle edges.

you just answered you question....create a poly cube...then use the bevel tool on it...and you're done...

I think the bevel tool is under EDIT POLYGONS> BEVEL...but don't quote me on that...I'm not certain...either there...or the POLYGONS menu...

I found the Bevel Tool just after I made the post. But it still dosen't achieve the result I'm after, the corners of the box don't bevel properly. Further more I want anyone know how to extrude to polys and cap the object so it's solid without having to merge the points manually. Thanks

if i understand you correctly, to cap an object, you use the append to poly tool = click on an open edge and then follow the arrows.

the bevel tool always gives so so results. they always need to be cleaned afterwards, try selecting the top face and doing an extrude with a slight offset to get a different result. that won't fix your corner issues though.

Creating a primitive box and applying a bevel with default values produces a perfect chafer box. Welding? It's perfectly welded already.
Only bad thing is it loses it's UV's. If you are trying to bevel something other than a primitive however it's a different cup o' tea.
