Change Maya 7's Hideous Splash Screen?

I'm not into mister spaghetti face at all. Can this be customized?

Not legally, no but yes you can hack the dll.

Anyway if your ealy hate it that much right click on your shortcut and choose properties and add a -nosplash to the end of your target line, and no more ugly splash screen

Actually, that's done by a fellow named (and I am going to spell his name wrong) Meats Meier. He's done some lectures for the Gnomon folks. His work, including the pic in question, is neat, but it's neat in a weird, disturbing way. Not what your typical splash screen wants to be.

But, I'll tell ya, two hours in Maya and I FEEL like Mr. Spaghetti face.

This is the problem of fine art, it eitgher appeals you or it dont. Some verynondescript imagery works much better dfor splashscreens because then everybody just ignorwes them.

I actually like the splash screen....it has kind of grown on me...but with the spec of the pc im currently stuck with, I see a lot of it

download a resource hacker (here's a free one):

http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/

and open up the Maya's resource dll that contains the image (probably in \mayaX.X\bin\MayaRes.dll) .. you can then remove it or replace it with your own image (not that I would advise doing this kind of thing, don't you have better things to do with your time? )
