Guess you have got a big scene with a huge amount of materials. But there are some materials that are not used and others have got the same texture files and could be reduced to one material.
How would you do that?
I wrote a script that has got a look on every material node. The problem is that the run time of the script is very high when using about 1.600 materials. I am just looking for a good idea how to reduce that amount of materials in a short time. Would you say that using the API would be quicker?
