Anybody been able to recreate the look of the clothes
in Stuart Little, I'd be real interested in how
you would have achieved this, through bumps, displacements,
slight overall fur, etc. I know it'll probably be a long
time b4 I'm capable of the same, but I'd still like to
see what people have come up with.

I don't understand your question. I have seen many renders with the quality of Stuart Littles clothes. Its called maya fur. Although they did use some special coding. Maya Fur was mainly used for everything. Just read the manual. The programming that they used was mainly for dynamics, and collision effects, etc. Again. Read the online manual. It even goes through tutorials of how to make some very realistic fur. As far as the bump, and displacement mapping goes. You would have to play around with that to get the desired effect. But I think that is explained in the Manual as well. Im sorry that I don't have any web links, but there are a couple out there with some fur images. Hope this helps

You've mistaken my comments, I was only interested
in seeing what people had achieved who weren't actually
working with the 'big' companies, that was all. I know
the processes behind getting 'that' look, but seeing
as how I'm not that far into learning Maya, I was just
keen to see what other people had accomplished.

Actually, Maya Cloth simulation engine is what was used most and a touch of Houdini. Maya Fur was used for grooming, then plugged into custom software and Renderman goodies. All rendering was done with Renderman, so to answer Stevens question, you will have to try very hard to re-create that look with the maya renderer, you can probably come fairly close using difusse light maps/specular maps/bump maps, but it will be tricky..
