Colorcorrection Based On Normal Maps

hi,
I heard form some people that they use normal maps for colorcorrection. In our case we want to change the color of a car using a normals pass. I know that usually the normals pass is used for relighting and that works fine. But how can we use it for changing the color? are there any tips??

You could use it to create masks using a relighter or just by merging the rgb channels together. You can then use these masks to colour correct through.

Thanks for the tip. I tried using the normals pass extracting a rgb mask, though it seems there could be better solutions for colorcorrection. Maybe there are other suggestions using this pass.

I don't quite now what you mean. If you want to use one of the normals channels as a mask for a colour correction just select in in the mask drop down menu. If you're talking about relighting there is a gizmo available in the download section (there might be a goody coming up with 4.6 as well ).
