Hi..

You should DEFINATELY UPGRADE to Combustion version 2.1.1 ! It is FREE...........

If you are already on Cv2.1.1, then tell us which codec you are trying to render to? It is hard to GUESS...

example: If it is a QuickTime MOV file, then re-install QT.

Lastly, whatever codec you use, WHERE are you rendering the file TO? It should be on a LOCAL DRIVE, and, that drive should have PLENTY of SPACE.. (duh.)

Hi Jack,

Yes I have 2.1.1 and Im rendering out as BMP's to a local drive with loads of space available. Ive been looking for a solution but noone else seems to be getting this same problem.

Any more ideas?

Hi...

Can I ask WHY are you render BMPS?
BMPs tend to have really LARGE file sizes...

There are many other file formats that are superior to BMPs... For example, why not render TGAs? TGAs support alpha (if you need alpha) and can be used in almost ANY other graphics program..... Or even PNGs!
Have you considered or tried other files formats?

Hi,

We are using BMP's so that we can Covert them using Bink video. They are not all that big compared with the huge RPF files: )

I have been trying to work out what is wrong, The user guide in combustion says it is essential to render out (Z Depth,Object,Velocity,non clamped color,coverage,render node, and color. ) When using the 3D Post effect... I have been only using Z Depth,Object and Velocity. Do you think that this maybe the reason why Combustion crashes out?
