Command Line Render Mr Problem

Hello all,

I am just starting out with Mental Ray and am having a slight problem. MR is working fine in the app, but when I go to command line, it doesn't recognize the -r mr flag. Is this something that isn't supported with Maya 6.0.1? Is there a fix if it is? Thanks!

PS On a different OS X machine I can't get maya to work from the command line. The correct env variable appears to be missing. Anyone know what and where I need to add to point to the correct bin?

there was no unified renderi interface inb maya 6.0 series (thats two incranations of aya ago), you should be using mayarender_with_mr

Ahh, that's it. And what does a sample command for that look like? I've tried using the same flags I use for maya -render and that doesn't work.

Does -r mr work with 6.5?

OK,

I got it to work. What other flags can I set with Mental Ray? What would I want to set (ie quality-wise). Here's what I used:

render -r mr -s 1 -e 10 -b 1 -x 720 -y 480 -rd /Users/etc/ -im RenderedFileName -proj /Users/etc/ /Users/etc/FileName.mb

How is render different from maya -render?

its just a further advancement on the concept ist jsut built into one vcommand thats all.
