nice work! the only thing that looks unrealistic to me is the depth blur that you have going on... on the man reading the book; you have about 2 inches from his hand to his arm where it goes from extreeeemly blury to perfectly clear again. Its not a bad idea to use it, but tone it down a bit. Your skin texture on the "young person" pic from your site is really good. overall your characters are very nice. you should also sharpen up your backrounds a little as well.

This scene also gives you great oppertunity for drastic lighting that you could take more advantage of. Go for more contrast.
