with $1,500. it is probably, Core 2 Duo 6600/6700, 4GB RAM, XP and Quadro FX1500. that should fit in your budget.

Thanks man!

What brand of ram do you reckon, or does it really matter. I relized that there are many different types of ram....DDR, DDR2, Dual Channel, Overclocking, SDRAM, SODIMM, RDRAMM, SIMM or ECC memor. What do these mean? Also is this a good hard drive...

Also is intel a good brand of processor?

What kind of cooling would a computer like this need.....if any at all.

Thanks,

the choice is not as much as you think.

Intel is in 80% of systems worldwide. so I guess it must be a decent brand.

RAM is dictated by MB, which is dictated by CPU, again Intel. so you will be using DDR2 667 (or 800) memory.

video card is nVidia Quadro. depending on your budge, either FX1500, FX3450 or FX3500.

hard drive is basically all the same at ur budget level. just different sizes and brand.

if you don't know if Intel is a good brand or not, you should let a shop build your box. try Dell, HP or whoever has your spec and onsale.
