Confirm Dialog Box on close

Is there a way to bring up a confirm dialog box when a user clicks the X button on a custom UI window? I do not want the UI to be deleted, so the scriptJob  deleteUI will not work. Is there another way?

Any help would be appreciated.

You could disable the title bar of the window so they can't press the X.

window -tb 0
However it doesn't stop them from using Alt-F4 to close it.  Maybe you could have an idle scriptJob that tests if the window exists and recreate it when it doesn't?

I thought about that, but if I hide the title bar, you can't move the window around the screen, and the user can press alt + F4.

There is a way to "-retain" the window when someone clicks the X, but is there a way to set a scriptJob which would check that condition?

scriptJob uiDeleted only works when the window is deleted, but I need to run a confirm dialog box before that actually happens.

I don't know, this seems to be a simple thing, but I can't wrap my mind around it.

If you put retain option on it then all you need to do is just re show it once its been marked for deletion. However theres no sane way to detect hiding of window state.

Pesonally i think having something like this is totally stupid. I mean if the user presses alt+f4 or the frigging yeah sure then i suppose he really MEANT to close the window. If not then the user is a idiot anyway and he cant be saved form himself. Tomorrow you will be asked for changing the yes and no to opposite because thet person keeps cliking yes on everything.

Just let him have a menuitem wich brings the window back whenever he wants it and reuse the same one over again.

To be honest you should be using a panel instead, simply because every time people want to do widows they want to really do panels but are to lazy to do so. They do provide you with a bit of leeway here since panesl DO GET notified when they are closed.
