I'm trying to convert a couple of PhongE textures (just color) to a texture file. My question is: Where does Maya spit the file to when its done converting?? I've searched my harddrive for the .tga that it was supposed to give me but I come out w/ nothing. How do I even know that it's working?? Any help would be appreciated.
Normally it puts it itn he sourceimages folder in you rproject directory. If you have not set a directory it will use the default directory in your user folder. Also I think Maya only saves iff files in this case so if you've been searching for targa you won't find it.
Thanks for the speedy answer! I looked for .iff's and still nothing... There's nothing that tells me that Maya is even outputting anything, so I'm not quite sure that I'm doing it correctly.
There is a dropdown menu under the CTFT Options where you can choose to output as an iff or a tga... so I'm not sure what the problem is exactly.
I've tried selecting just one node and then several and I'm still getting nothing.

Is it the type of material that I'm using? Is maya just unable to convert a PhongE node to a file texture?
Thanks again gmask!
You need to have a projected or procedural texture in there somewhere for it to have anything to do.. there is nothing to convert if it is just a phong shader.
