corrupt files?

hi, i was working on a charactor when XSI suddenly crashed, when i restarted the xsi it said that there was no recovery attepmt is possible, now when i try to open the file i was working in it says "failed to save sequence before system failure". is there anyway i can open that file again?

Check your backup directory...see if u can load the scenes in there............Good luck

yeah, i can load the most recent backup file, but even by using that i have still lost quite a lot of work, i take it that my file is completly un-recoverable i suppose i will just have to carry on from the backup file!

I suggest that you turn on Auto Save.
Set it to something like 10 min.
This way, if you have the same problem again you will have only lost 10 min or less of work.
