hi!

i would like to know if is it possible to make a shift (operator -----> distort) from a desired part of a video.
i mean, if is it possible not have the shift from ths last pixels of the top/bottom or left/right of it.

Hi,

I have read your post 50 times and I do not understand exactly what you want to do with your image. Do you want to pan and scan an area?

Can you try and explain it a different way and give an existing example?

ok, sorry. english is not my mother language
what i want to do is apply the "shift" from any position of my footage (video, image, etc). the porblem is when i apply the shift, it starts from the ending pixels of the footage so the image is moved to oposite direction the shift is applied, right?

in the broadcast section there is a quicktime called "Finn".

are you sure you linked us to the right web site? cuz when i view the one you posted there is no "broadcast" section.....and Grantkay I think this person basically wants to be able to have better control of the operater "shift" she wants to be able to control what part the operator shifts instead of it shifting the whole workspace...i dunno.....

^^^maybe if you take the footage you want to shift then copy it then place the copied one on top of the other in the timeline, apply a mask to the one on top and then the shift operator ....or something along that line.....i dunno.....im still not sure if this is what you were talkin about

first of all, i want to thank you for all your replies
im going to try to explain myself the best i can. its a kind of what you are saying. i dont know if you could see the quicktime i told you but im going to give you the direct link to it:

the thing is that he/she takes a video and can shift it from any part of it. but if i try to do the same what i get is that the video is moved to the right ( in case i shif for X positive values) and the weith of the video still the same. what i want is the shift to start, for example, from the middle of a video. what i do not want is to get is the image moved to the right ( it still shifts the very first colum of pixels of the left and have not done the sift the middle of it, right? )
i hope you could understand my question this time.

Hi,

After some playing with the image, I believe you can achieve what you want by applying a resize filter to the layer before applying the shift filter.

Set the resize filter to crop and crop to the point where you want the pixels to repeat themselves. In the shift operator, move the cross hairs around and the pixels will be repeated off the cropped edges....
