What is an average day rate for a Shake film project.
More specifically:
- an artist with 3 years experience and a couple of films under his belt.
- an artist that supplies his own raid & renderfarm.
- an artist woking in NY or LA.
- a 2k project.

I know what the rates are as an artist in general, but was more interested in the rates if I supply my own equipment.

My appologies in advance if this question seems too trivial for this board... it's just difficult to find Shake artists I can share ideas and questions with.

If they were good, I know they could work for at least $2000/week. A little more or less depending on rep and the desperation of the employeer.

I'm guessing the slowness of my application while using shake could be because I don't ave one of those render farms you are talking about. What is a render farm? ... and how do I make one?

Here in the SE US, an accomplished vfx artist can make 500-750 a day. Not as much large-scale production as NYC/LA but when it is available I know that I have been busy.
