Degrain Recommendation

I need a good degrain tool. I have used the furnace degrain yet that is to expensive for me to purchase ( I think it's around 5 K). Any recommendations on a good degrain filter that is reasonably priced and effective.
I have seen a couple degrain macros on this forum. I am running my shake 3.5 on a MAC platform and everything I found on this forum for grain was not applicable.

Thanks for your reply. I remember working with Sapphire in Illusion ( long time ago) I did not remember them having a degrain tool. has anyone used it. Does it really do the trick or is it more of a channel blur?

I have to say the old UnGrain macro on this site isn't bad at all for many applications. You can gain a trial of Furnace to see if it works for you. Also, you can rent the plugins for short terms fairly reasonably.

I know you said reasonably priced, but I felt I'd be doing the forum an injustice for not mentioning the awesome power of the Furnace plug-in set from The Foundry. The degrainer is phenomenal and the rest of the toolset is simply amazing. Yes, it is expensive ($4000), but definitely gets the job done.

Sapphire degrain works by finding the edges and degraining outside of these ariers. This works visually but is useless for keying where you only really care about the edges. Furnace seems to the the only present decent solution. However, keep your eye on Algolith. Although their noise redution plugin is currently pretty useless, their next version might be good.
